Where do I meet?
All students are asked to meet at the beach near the Sandgate Swimming pool. During the week please meet your instructor at the Surf Connect van, on weekends we will have a marquee on the beach where you will be met. If the wind is too strong for the Marquee to be erected then meet at the beach and look for our staff who will have a Surf Connect rashie on with Instructor of Staff on the back.
When should I turn up?
At least 10-15 minutes before your booked in time. Late arrivals will shorten your experience.
What should I wear?
Comfortable clothing you can get in the water with. A cap, cheap sunnies and lots of sun cream. The bay here is all sand bottom and most people do not wear shoes to go in the water, but if you have some and prefer to wear them, then by all means.
Are there changing rooms and showers?
Yes, next to the beach there are public toilets and outdoor showers.
What facilities are there in the area?
Free BBQ, parks, cafes, even a public swimming pool 50m from our shop. All major banks and restaurants, supermarkets, chemists are all within short walking distance from our shop.
How do I get there?
Sandgate Beach is the only beach that can be easily reached even with public transport. Sandgate train station is a direct train ride from
Brisbane Central, and takes about half an hour. See our contact’s page

What happens if weather is not suitable for the activity?
If weather gets in the way, too much wind, not enough wind, rain, storm
etc, we will contact you to reschedule to another day that suits you. If you do not hear from us, that means booking is all good. No need to call us to confirm.
Can I change my booking?
Of course, as long as you give us at least 24 hours for direct bookings, or 48 hours for voucher bookings.
What if my voucher has expired?
If it is expired due to cancellation because of weather, we can extend
voucher as you are already booked into the system. If you have not
booked in (i.e. activated your voucher), and your voucher is an external company voucher (i.e. not issued by Surf Connect), then you need to contact the voucher company direct as once a voucher expires, we do not have access to it in our booking system.
